CAPT KENNETH “TINY” MICHAEL WARMBIR, USN-(RET.) SIGNAL CHARLIE

CAPT Kenneth “Tiny” Michael Warmbir, USN-(Ret.) 70-years-old of Hammond, La., died Friday, October
6, 2006, at his residence.  Kenneth was born Monday, September 21, 1936 in
Ashkum IL.  Kenneth served 23 years in the U.S. Navy as a helicopter pilot
and commanded a helicopter squadron in San Diego. He retired in 1980 in
Washington, DC where he worked as Assistant Inspector General for the Navy.
As a second career, he taught Social Studies at Hammond High School from
1986 until 1997.  He was a graduate of Adams State College, Alamosa CO and
Southeastern Louisiana University.  Surviving are wife, Elizabeth Ann
Warmbir; daughter, Joan Kirby of San Diego, CA; son, Michael Warmbir of
Harahan; mother, Edna Warmbir; sisters, Patricia, Kathy and Sandra of all
of CO; brother, Jerry Warmbir of CA; two grandchildren, Allison Warmbir of
Folson, La., and Jerin Kirby of San Diego, CA.  He was preceded in death by
father, Lester Warmbir.  Friends will be received Saturday, October 14 at
Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond from 11:00 a.m until
11:30 a.m. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel, Saturday,
October 14, 2006 at 11:30 a.m.  Guests are invited to the family home for
refreshments after the service.  Interment will be private in the Barrancas
National Cemetery, Pensacola Fla.  Flowers are desirable or donations to
