History of VMM-266

Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 266 (VMM-266) “Fighting Griffins”  is  based at MCAS New River, NC. The “Fighting Griffins” were established on April 23, 1983, and have multiple missions including vertical replenishment and search and rescue. The Fighting Griffins fly the MV-22B Osprey, manufactured by Bell-Boeing.
