NAVY OLF IMPERIAL BEACH, REAM FIELD, CA 100TH ANNIVERSARY CEREMONY OCTOBER 5, 2018

IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif.- (October 5, 2018) Members of local historical societies gathering at Naval Outlying Landing Field (NOLF) Imperial Beach (IB), home to Ream Field, to commemorate 100 years of military flights at the airfield Oct. 5, 2018. Veterans and members of local historical societies onboard NOLF IB were given a tour of the MH-60R Seahawk parked at Ream Field by Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron Four One (HSM-41). HSM-41 is stationed at Naval Air Station North Island (NASNI) and use NOLF IB for 95 percent of their flight operations. NASNI and NOLF IB are part of Naval Base Coronado’s consortium of eight Naval installations stretching from San Clemente Island, located 70 miles west of San Diego, to the La Posta Warfare Training Facility, located 60 miles east of San Diego.
