Squadron and Detachment Plaques

Rufadora Helo Plaques

This archives of helicopter detachment plaques adorned the walls of the Rufadora Helo Bar in Olongapo, Republic of Philippines. These important mementos of the naval helicopter history have been donated to the Naval Helicopter Association Historical Society (NHAHS) by the owner of the bar.

We must give thanks to Mr. Rufino (Pop) Ramos and his family, who loyally served the U.S. Military, particularly the helicopter community, both during the Vietnam War and many year after. The whole world may now get a glimpse into the trials and tribulations of the Helicopter Navy when viewing these plaques.

The former members of Helicopter Combat Support Squadron SEVEN (HC-7) will particularly enjoy these memories, having been the primary squadron who truly called the ROOF their home away from home.

Now you can enjoy these helo plaques here by click on the blurbs below or you visit Building 654 off of Rogers Road on NAB Coronado (NAS North Island) in Coronado, CA.
